When software works

After upgrading to Firefox 3, I’ve noticed that when I enter a new username/password (or guess at an existing but poorly remembered username/password) at some registration site, a slim panel drops down from the top of the viewport and asks if I want the browser to save the login information. Not unusual in itself…but in the meantime, the browser goes ahead and loads the page to which I clicked through, or (if the login info doesn’t work), loads the error page.

That is: Firefox now allows me to wait and see if the login information actually works. In the past - and with most other browsers, if I recall correctly - you had to say “yes, remember this info” first and then perhaps find out that you had the browser remember a faulty login.

That’s a little improvement, but a fucking awesome one. I’m liking Firefox 3.
