Backyarding it

From a few days ago:
Me: Where’s the camera? I’m gonna take some pics of the backyard for the blog.
M: Actually, I wanted to put down some mulch in the new bed.
Me: So…you’re saying that I should hold off on taking pictures?
M: I think so.
The mulch is now down; the pictures have been taken. Here’s an update on our ever-evolving back yard. As you may recall, M and I uprooted the “sidewalk to nowhere” that bordered the flower bed on the west side of the yard. So originally it looked like this (the garden hose marked the projected new border):

I neglected to upload a close-up view of the little “bird park” that M made out of the sidewalk remnants and a tree limb; that area is surrounded by pea gravel that you can buy in very heavy bags at any home store. You can sort of see it from afar under the cherry tree right in back of the house. I’ll find a better pic and put it up sometime soon.
