WordPress 2.6 engaged

About an hour ago, I dutifully upgraded the WordPress engine to the latest iteration, 2.6, with nary a hiccup. All seems well thus far. I’m guessing no one noticed any problems while accessing the blog, which as it should be.

I can’t really recall all the new features and tweaks included in the upgrade, but the linked page should provide that info, as should the video tour:

So the visual editor is now a feature that “works for you, not against you,” eh? I shall be glad to test it out - on the test blog, naturally - though I’ve gotten used to using the code-only post editor. Image captioning sounds cool. I wonder if the quirky Flash uploader has been tamed? I’ll give that a look. Some trepidation regarding auto-save, as it’s given me problems in the past. I allowed the tweaks used to suppress the feature to be overwritten with the upgrade, so we’ll see if it behaves properly.

So some exploring to do. It will be fun, in a somewhat geeky kind of way.
