It’s been a while since I mentioned my brother Greg, medical-wise. He lost his leg a while back, and has been waiting until his condition would allow him to be fitted with a prosthetic limb. That day finally arrived; his doc recently pronounced him fit enough for the prosthetic, and Greg went in and tried on a test leg last week. His initial reaction was sheer marvel over the sensation of actually standing on two feet. He looked at the doctor and said, “I know this is just a test leg…but y’all can’t have this back.”
Greg received his own prosthetic leg he following day. He celebrated kinda hard that night, but he can hardly be blamed for that. The following days have seen him learning to adjust to the leg; the biggest adjustment is probably expectation, learning to pace himself as his body becomes accustomed to working with the new limb. It all seems good so far, however.

That’s so cool. Best to Greg–and thanks for the update!
I’ve wanted to ask after Greg, but didn’t want to seem too nosy.
Fabulous news…and yet another reminder that I should quit taking my body for granted.
Thanks much to you both! Greg would say so himself, if he was here. :-)
Greg is here, by Crom!! :o) I really want to thank anyone and everyone who sent a kind wish or had even a kind thought for myself or my family, related to this situation. You’re good folk and we need more like you.
Also: let me take the time once again to especially thank my one-and-only big brother for coming down South and playing such a powerful role in the early adjustment to my post-operative condition. You are, and always will be, my Negro. :o)
P.S. To meet a really inspiring person whose story is related to this topic, please visit the Website of Cameron Clapp. He and I both get our devices from the same company, Hanger Orthopedic Group, Inc. Relative to my case, Hanger’s products and customer service have been nothing short of fantastic.
