“Suckers.”
Goddamnit, let’s get this straight: There isn’t a pair of sneakers in the world that’s worth two hundred and thirty dollars, no matter whose name is on them. There just isn’t. “What the market will bear” be damned.
Jordan in a Nike press release:
I’m honored and humbled by the AIR JORDAN franchise’s loyal following after all these years. The release of this shoe is exciting and a dream come true for me.
Must…remain…calm…
Amazingly enough, there are sneakers so stratospherically priced that they make Air Jordans look like street-sold knockoffs.
There really are two Americas: one inhabited by fools, and the other filled with the money from which they are parted.
