Quality control in China continues to take a beating in the press: Steamed buns containing as much as sixty percent chopped, processed cardboard, served up piping hot in the Chaoyang district of Beijing.
“What’s in the recipe?” the reporter asks. “Six to four,” the man says.
“You mean 60 percent cardboard? What is the other 40 percent?” asks the reporter. “Fatty meat,” the man replies.
Let’s hope Yum! Brands doesn’t hear about this. Of course, with a division in Shanghai, they may already know.
Addendum: Whoops! This story was later reported to be a hoax. Bad on me and many others for falling for it, but worse on the reporter who made up the story.
