Mediocre running back drops the H-bomb

Kevan Barlow, the former underachieving 49ers running back and soon-to-be underachieving Jets running back, runs afoul of Godwin’s Law while blasting his former coach, Mike Nolan:
“Nolan just doesn’t know what he’s doing. He’s a first-time head coach with too much power,” Barlow told the newspaper. “He has too much power as a first-time head coach. He walks around with a chip on his shoulder, like he’s a dictator, like he’s Hitler. People are scared of him. If it ain’t Nolan’s way, it’s the highway.”
Like many who drop the rhetorical H-bomb, Barlow later scrambled - more adroitly than he ever has on the field - to interpret his descriptive choice.
“I was kind of harsh on him, saying he’s a dictator. That’s bad. Saddam Hussein is a dictator,” Barlow told the Times. “I was speaking on emotion. … My world’s been [turned upside down] in the past [48] hours.”
Own your words, Kevan, own your words.
Some might suggest that Mr. Barlow might have found the courage to express his views directly to the coach, instead of sniping from afar. Some might also prefer that an athlete with so much to say at least have gaudier stats. TO, for example, can actually play the game…you know, when he wants to.
