Medical fact

Did you know that being even mildly hypertensive is kind of a dealbreaker when it comes to being a kidney donor?

Well, it is, apparently.

Shouldn’t have come as a surprise, I guess.

  1. And that’s sadly ominous.

  2. Not ominous, really; just a tad disappointing. Greg is being evaluated prior to being put on a kidney recipient waiting list. I’d hoped to be able to give him one of mine, but my hypertension makes takes that option off the table. Some clinics are a little less strict about it, but Greg’s isn’t.

In a sense nothing’s lost, really, but to quote Bruce Willis from the original Die Hard, I feel like shit anyway.

  3. Still ominous since obviously Greg needs that kidney. One does not take in a transplanted organ for the hell of it.

I’m sorry about both ends of the sucky news…his need and your inability to give.
