Kitty City: Population, eight

There are times when we all seem to be doing well, and other times when we would just as soon sell off the lot of them for medical experiments.

Ironically, the two cats are very much alike and tend to mimic each other’s behaviors. For example, it didn’t take long for Jack to note how Scooter always positioned himself on the dining room table after kitty breakfast for his morning grooming. Now Scooter has a table mate in the morning, which thrills him.

Roxy is often the subject of Jack’s unwanted attention, which she exacerbates just a tad with melodramatic responses. She usually takes refuge in high places, like the crow’s nest of the kitty tree, where she can survey the landscape for hostiles.

Roxy has usually been the cat on the periphery of things, so we are taking extra care to make sure she feels tended to.

Venice, Roxy older sister, has no problems with her place in the kitty hierarchy - she’s the queen. Just ask her. She has responded to the changes in the feline environment in her usual recalcitrant fashion - by demanding attention. Spot the bad kitty sitting where she knows she’s not supposed to.

Baxter, the lord of the manor, has not taken well to Jack’s presence. Though we have tried to placate him with such expensive distractions as the kitty trees, which he does deign to enjoy…

…he is just as likely to sit and grumble.

M has tried to make sure Baxter gets some extra playtime in, which seems to help his disposition.
