Our attempts to find a home for our stray cat buddy Leon have all fallen through so far, so we’re still on the hunt. The sociable garden cat doesn’t seem to mind, of course; all he wants is food, affection, and a chance to enter our own back door. Or the front door; he’s not picky. If only he could. Unfortunately, we’re a bit full up just now with Venice, Baxter, Scooter, Roxy, and Jack.
A brief scene from yesterday, following Leon’s snacking on treats.
Excuse me. Time to feed the kitty.

I expect that we’ll coax him into the big cat carrier next week for neutering and a microchip check. If he hasn’t been fixed already, though, it’s not at all likely that he’s been chipped. Then we’ll bring him home and…let him back out into the yard, assuming we haven’t found someone to take him in.

Hi Philip,
It’s good that you look out for the strays, our vet gives us a discount for spaying/neutering stray cats from our neighborhood that we bring in.
That’s really great that you do that, and great of your vet. The Humane Society has a low-cost spay/neuter offer, but you have to ask for it in advance. (!)
