Galloping ingloriously toward the playoffs

Another weekend, another victory. Such is the story of my fantasy football squad, the fighting Purple Stallions. I overcame many obstacles to gain the triumph, not least of which was a mind-blowingly horrid performance by so-called quarterbacks Drew Bledsoe (0.16 fantasy points) and Chad Pennington (-5.73; yes, that’s a minus sign). My best QB this weekend was J.P.-freakin’-Losman with a whopping 1.2 points…and he was on the bench. Crikey! Fortunately, I had offsetting positive performances from tough wideout Anquan Boldin, reliable kicker Jeff Wilkins, and the stalwart San Diego Chargers defense. I also benefitted from having a slacker of an opponent, Tec_Vex, who started four inactive players. I don’t understand these guys; why join a fantasy league only to neglect your team? Oh, well, a win’s a win. I remain atop the league, though by a slender margin. Having trouble shaking league commish Mazz. You can bet that he pays attention to his team.

Hoping to create some more daylight between Mazz and myself next week as I take on the downtrodden and desperate Vandelay Vikings. We should see better performances from the QBs, or else I’ll take a stick to them. Next stop: 5 and 0!
