Glad we can amuse you. Just curious — knowing you’re a WordPress fan, is there anything that struck you as false or inaccurate about what we said? Honestly, we’re not interested in just endlessly going back-and-forth with Lloyd, but we do want to start useful conversations. Hell, if all that came out of it was that your WP install was more secure, that’d be a great thing.

Well, the attempt to cast a noted strength of WordPress - its wealth of plugin solutions, created by a large and enthusiastic community - in a negative light (”if you have enough free time to find” them) was worth a parody response all by itself. I’ll note here that the abundance of plugins for WP has been a boon to me, and it’s not as though I’ve had to skimp on sleep in order to make time to find them.

Hell, if all that came out of it was that your WP install was more secure, that’d be a great thing.

Oh, I don’t want either camp to stop. As far as I’m concerned, Six Apart and Automattic can throw stones (figuratively, please) at one another all day, so long as that furor is followed up by better products. Many a true word is spoken in jest, or in slightly testy rejoinder. If tough love from 6A somehow results in a more secure WP install for me, then blessings to you.

In the meantime, as I said: amusing.

Also: Yes, I use WordPress now, but I was once a Movable Type fan, before the Fall.
