Today was the scheduled Waveflux wisdom tooth removal day, which meant that I’d likely have little coherent to say today about the case of LaVena Johnson (or anything else). Fortunately, the world is made up of other people. I’m very grateful to toma at MetaFilter for bringing LaVena’s story to that community, and for the interest shown by other MeFi members. I’ve said more of a proper thanks at the LaVena blog, but wanted to mention it here, too.
And now I must go take another painkiller.

I hope you got through it (the pain) all right. This is something I should have done but haven’t, and my two bottom wisdom teeth have caused some real problems.
Wisdom teeth: as useful as an appendix, but slightly less expensive to remove. The human body is a marvel of engineering!
The wisdom tooth work went a lot more smoothly than the procedure I had done a couple of weeks before, which surprised me. Feeling pretty good now, and no need for Vicodin.
I’m sorry about your own wisdom tooth situation (”wisdom” teeth - hilarious!). Don’t be like Phil - try to get it looked at as soon as you can.
