The news in St. Louis this morning is all about young police officer Norvelle Brown, who died last night after having been shot by a suspect he was detaining. No suspects; one weapon recovered.
Terrible news for his family and friends, for the department, for the city. Not to rank murders on a scale, but the kind of person who kills an officer is a de facto greater threat to the community at large. May justice find the person or people responsible before further loss of life.
